Joomla PNG-Lite icons are a direct swap for Joomla core png icons, the icons appear the same in every possible way including quality.They also work with any front end joomla template and will not compromise security in any way. This method can also be applied to even Admin templates .This is by far the easiest optimization enhancement for Joomla to install . Simply unpack the zip file and drop it in to your root Joomla directory via ftp, overwriting all of the images it asks you to replace.
You may need to clear your browser cache to notice any improvements. While the improvements may be small, they are improvements at the cost of about 2 minutes of your time. You need to use the default admin template to notice any differences in the back end.
